Started at the trailhead just before 9am. Planned on going into White Pine to find smooth surface. With the timing of the day, snow was a little slow to soften. After passing under the base of the Spire, I decided to head towards Lake Peak, and ride one of the faces of the peak. I came across a nice boot pack up the NE face to the ridge, just a hundred feet or so below the summit. Snow was still frozen, and made for a nice stair master to the top. After the summit, decided to look at Lake Peak Chute. Due East facing was actually nice and soft, and not to wet yet. After eating a few old tracks, found nice smooth corn all the way to the lake. Snow had softened in the lower valley, and made for a pretty easy exit. No avalanche hazard today in this zone. I was back at the trailhead by 1:30.
I found a pretty nice watch at the base of the boot pack, UAC has my contact info if this is yours.
Thank you all for a awesome season, and I'll see you out there........
