There are a few remaining patches of soft-ish snow un upper elevation northerly aspects, but most surfaces are now all a melt-freeze crust with some decent corn.
Comments
Despite most weather stations reporting at, or above-freezing temperatures overnight, the clear sky provided a solid overnight refreeze, with east aspects softening 9:30 - 10:00 am, south by 10 am, and west by 11 am. The solid refreeze plus light breeze likely helped keep the snow firm later this morning than expected. As we were following the softening slopes, we encountered a Low avalanche danger.
Some photos of recent wet-loose avalanche activity.
There is dry snow on northerly aspects above 10,000 and this may be reactive Friday with a poor overnight refreeze expected plus even warmer temperatures Friday.
