We were trying to find some good skiing conditions in Tibble Fork on the terraced peak just west of Mill Canyon Peak. After a few turns here and there and some traversing, we ended up on the ridge dropping into the Forest Lake drainage about 400 or 500 feet below the peak. We decided on a fairly short run approximately of 35 degrees. It looked like the slope had avalanched in the past few weeks, but there were some bushes visible which made us think it was fairly shallow and didn't have a wind slab. The first skier triggered the slide on their 2nd or 3rd turn and it fractured immediately to the left of the skier. They skied to the right and weren't caught or carried.
It was a hard slab avalanche from one to almost four feet deep and ran about 200 feet downhill. There was a loud crack, but it didn't seem to have a ton of energy. Significant sized blocks remained intact.
Looking back, we realized that we were too complacent and did not heed the danger signs of a repeater slope facing ENE adjacent to severely wind scoured slopes. This was also the main danger that Trent mentioned in the mornings forecast.
