The avalanche danger on the Manti Skyline remains generally LOW.
Sluffing of the surface snow should be anticipated on any steep slope that has soft snow on the surface. The sluffs are starting to get a bit larger and are entraining more snow as they descend.

Huge THANK YOU the guys from Snow Big Deal and the Sanpete County Sheriff Search and Rescue team for helping teach people how to use their avalanche rescue gear! Saturday's free beacon clinic was a success with near 40 people attending.
Weather and Snow
Current Conditions
Holy cow. The song remains the same. Warmer temperatures on the peaks, colder temperatures down low, very light wind. Soft creamy dense snow still provides nice turning in areas that don't have tracks, wind crusts or sun crusts.
Mountain Weather
Another nice day is on tap today with sunny skies, high temperatures into the mid to upper 30s, and light wind. Monday we'll see partly cloudy skies with west northwest wind speeds increasing a bit and slightly cooler temperatures. A small storm is looking weaker and weaker for our region on Wednesday. Basically it amounts to a slight chance of snow with a trace to an inch or so possible. Weather models hint a some more smaller storms the second week in February.

Description
Overall, the snowpack remains mostly stable right now. The one thing people should be aware of is that the surface snow is loose enough now that it will sluff and produce small loose dry snow avalanches. These don't pose much threat unless they run for a long distance on a sustained slope where they can build up enough mass that they might knock a person down. They really don't pose much threat. If you are the type of person who gets into areas where these can be triggered (ie VERY steep slopes) you probably have the riding skills to avoid getting caught by one of these.
