Forecast for the Skyline Area Mountains

Overall, the avalanche danger rating on the Skyline is LOW.
There is a MODERATE danger rating in the upper elevations.
Small human triggered avalanches are possible. Avoid areas with wind drifted snow and you'll avoid any avalanche danger.

Weather and Snow
Current Conditions: The central part of the Skyline picked up a few inches of snow this morning. I don't see any accumulation on the north end. Temperatures barely made it into the teens Tuesday and were in the single digits overnight. The wind has been from the north and just slightly northeast. It's been light to moderate in speed. A little stronger along the highest terrain.
Mountain Weather: The second half of the storm is moving through today. It'll bring the chance for snow through this afternoon with a few more inches of accumulation possible. Wind will be from the northwest with light to moderate speeds. Temperatures might not get out of the single digits. The rest of the week looks nice with plenty of sun and temperatures into the mid to upper 20s. There's a hint of a decent storm about a week away.

Description
There's not a whole lot of avalanche danger out there right now. We haven't received all that much new snow. The wind has drifted the snow a bit in the higher terrain but I suspect that most drifts will stay in place. As with any new storm snow, use small test slopes to see if you can initiate any cracking. Watch out for "pillowy" looking drifts and avoid them on the steepest terrain. If you avoid steep slopes where the wind has deposited snow, you will stay safe from any avalanche danger.
