On a tour Thursday evening I came across two Loose Wet avalanches that happened a couple hundred feet apart from each other. Both of these slides crossed the Red Pine skin track and the debris felt relatively soft so my estimate is that they occurred yesterday. No other avalanches were observed.
The White Pine and Red Pine skinner were both in great shape and made travel easier than usual. Riding conditions were excellent.
The rate of snowfall increased late in the day from very light snowfall to light snowfall by 6:45 PM. The wind was light from the northwest and the sky was obscured with fog. The fog was dense at times on the trail at 9,000 feet but cleared out lower in the canyon around roughly 6,500 feet.
