Comments
I got a good look at the Wellsvilles this morning and notice a bunch of new avalanches. Older avalanches were blown in and snowed over from earlier in the week like the Diamond Avalanche. These were new avalanches involving the snow from yesterday.
Picture 1: Upper Coldwater Canyon. It looks like a cornice fall initiated a larger avalance stepping down into deeper snowpack layers
Picture 2: This is the upper north bowl of Pine Canyon between Box Elder Peak and the Wellsville Cone. From what I could see this one was very wide the crown was mid slope and I did not see evidence of a cornice fall. It probably on ran 500ish feet into the upper bowl area.
Picture 3: These were in the upper south bowl of Pine Canyon. They looked to have stepped down deep into the snowpack an likely ran 1000 feet plus.
There is evidence of many of dry sluff, cornice fall, and smaller slab avalanches on the Wellsvilles that I did not get pictures of.
