It is very common that the Wedding Ring Ridge avalanches after a period of windy conditions. This is more notable though because this avalanche fits into the Persistent Weak Layer avalanche problem category rather than just the Wind Drifted Snow category. This no doubt broke into weak facets at the base of the snowpack.
